Balochistan shuts down over operation, arrests

QUETTA: A complete shutter-down strike was observed in parts of Balochistan on Sunday against the ongoing operation and the arrests of Baloch leaders. The strike was called by the Baloch Republican Party. Markets in Quetta’s Liaquat Bazaar, Abdul Sattar Road, Prince Road, Kandahari Bazaar, Jinnah Road, Saryab Road, Double Road and in Mastung, Qalat, Khuzdar, Turbat, Panjgore, Noshanki, Taftan and Dalbadin remained closed. The Anti-Terrorist Force, Balochistan Constabulary and police personnel patrolled streets and roads, while heavy contingent of police were deployed on all main highways. Security personnel checked all vehicles entering Barori Road, Sabzal Road, Mano Jan Road and Saryab Road. online
